Born on November 11, 1994, in Kerala, Samson is known for his exceptional batting skills and brilliant wicketkeeping abilities.
INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE
Samson began his cricketing career at a young age and quickly made a name for himself in the domestic circuit. In 2013, he was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for the IPL, and he made his debut against the Kings XI Punjab in the same year. Samson quickly established himself as a dependable wicketkeeper-batsman and was instrumental in helping the Royals win the tournament in his debut season. He scored 339 runs in 11 matches, including two half-centuries, and was awarded the "Rising Star" award for his performances.
Early Life and Career:
Samson's family hails from Kerala, and his father, Samson Viswanath, worked as a police constable. As a child, Samson was interested in cricket and started playing at the age of 11. He joined a cricket academy in Thiruvananthapuram and honed his skills under the guidance of Biju George, his coach.
In 2011, Samson was selected for the Kerala Under-16 team and played in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. He performed well in the tournament and was subsequently selected for the Kerala Under-19 team. In 2012, he made his debut for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy and scored a century in his second match. Samson's impressive performances in domestic cricket caught the attention of IPL franchises, and he was eventually signed by the Rajasthan Royals in 2013.

Sanju held the position of manager at Bharat Petroleum in Thiruvananthapuram since 2016. In 2018, he established the "Six Guns Sports Academy" in Thiruvananthapuram, which focuses on providing cricket and football training to young athletes.
In recognition of his achievements, he was selected as the State election icon of Kerala prior to the 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election. In February 2023, Sanju was appointed as the brand ambassador of the Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC, tasked with representing the team and its values both on and off the field.
YOUTH CAREER
In 2007, Sanju was a talented member of the Kerala U-13 cricket team. He captained the team in the KSCA Inter-State under-13 tournament, where he emerged as the player of the tournament with an exceptional performance, scoring 973 runs at an impressive average of 108.11, including four centuries in just five matches. The following year, as part of the Kerala U-15 team, he showcased his skills by scoring a double century off just 138 balls against Goa in the 2008-09 Vijay Merchant Trophy. With a total of 498 runs, including two centuries and two fifties, he finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer. Sanju also held leadership positions, serving as captain for the Kerala U-16 and U-19 teams.
