In an exhilarating match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday, defending champions Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the season opener. Shubman Gill was the star of the show, scoring a brilliant 63 off just 36 balls, including six fours and three sixes, to anchor the 179-run chase for GT.

Earlier, CSK had posted a challenging total of 178 for 7, with Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the charge with an impressive knock of 92 off 50 balls. MS Dhoni also played a crucial cameo, smashing 14 runs off just 4 balls. GT's Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, and Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets each, while Joshua Little chipped in with one.

GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that ultimately paid off as his team secured a thrilling victory in the end.
