CSK Announces Akash Singh as the Replacement for Mukesh Choudhary

On Friday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made an official announcement that Akash Singh will be replacing the injured Mukesh Choudhary. Choudhary is currently recovering from a stress fracture, which has forced him to sit out the 16th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL).

Last season, Choudhary had performed exceptionally well, picking up 16 wickets for CSK, despite the team finishing ninth on the points table. However, with the left-arm seamer now sidelined, the onus will be on Akash Singh to step up and fill his shoes.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has roped in the talented left-arm pacer Akash Singh as the replacement for injured Mukesh Choudhary. The 19-year-old, who was a part of India’s Under-19 World Cup team in 2020, had previously played for Rajasthan Royals.

Akash Singh has a decent track record, having played nine T20s, nine List A matches, and five First-Class games, with a total of 31 wickets against his name. CSK has signed him for his base price of INR 20 Lakh.

The team will be hoping that the youngster can make a valuable contribution to their campaign in the upcoming 16th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) and help them reclaim their lost glory.
